Wikipedia, the well-known online encyclopedia, is one of the most visited websites in all countries of the world. Its appearance made finding information on a specific topic easier than ever, and the easiest way to access it from iOS is by using its official app.
THIS IS WIKIPEDIA MOBILE
When we access the app for the first time, it will ask us to configure the languages in which we want the articles to appear, as well as if we want to collaborate with the editors. Once this is configured we can start using the app.
At first glance we will find an app with a very clean and careful interface, which is also very easy to use, since it only has three sections: Explore, Saved and History.
Explore is the section that opens when we open the app, and in it we find some of the most read articles of the day, the image of the day, a random article, and nearby places that have a Wikipedia page.
In the saved section there will be all the articles that we have saved when accessing them, and in the history section we can see, ordered by day, the articles that we have visited.
From any of these sections we can search for a specific article. To do this we have to press the magnifying glass symbol that is in the upper right part. When doing a search we can choose between the languages that we would have chosen when configuring the app, and Wikipedia Mobile will show us the most relevant results.
When we have found the article we were looking for, all we have to do is click on it and the app will show us the complete article it contains in its database. At the bottom of all the articles we will find 3 icons.
The first one is to change the language of the article, the second to share the article and the third to save it. If we decide to save either of the two, it will appear in the second section.
Wikipedia Mobile is, like the web version, completely free and you can download it from here.
