This weekend we have tried the app RadarBot Gratis on a little trip that we have made and we have to say that this fixed radar detector has left a very good taste in our mouths gratuitous. We have been stunned by its effectiveness and by all the information it provides us apart from the radar warning.
We have talked about some other application of this type on the web, such as Trafico No!, which we loved and since then we have not talked about one radar detector app since we had not found any free one that was worth it.Today, we are back with a new radar detector that we have loved.
We have to say that being free it only warns us of fixed speed cameras. Its version PRO, which costs 5, 99€ , allows us to have access to a large database of radars that is updated daily so that we can drive calmly and without getting caught by any radar.
In addition, it offers us this additional information:
- Gasoline price at any gas station we want, being able to choose that only the gas stations with the cheapest price appear.
- Access to DGT cameras, although this function does not work very well. They should fix the bugs in future updates.
RADARBOT FREE, a good fixed speed camera detector:
In our test route, specifically Yecla-Alicante, we know that there is only one fixed speed camera on the entire route. We have put RadarBot to work as soon as we left the Murcian town and we have challenged it to see if it warned us of that radar.
What has surprised us during the journey is the information that this app can give us. The first thing that has caught our attention is that it has a speedometer that keeps track of the speed at which we are going throughout the journey. We can store and save this information in the application itself.
Regarding the Radars menu, which is the one that interests us, we have to say that an interface appears in which we can see the map and, reflected in it, the radars that appear on our way. Within this interface we can configure various functions such as map view, GPS activation or not, change the screen mode.
When we were 1Km from the radar, the app woke up and warned us visually and acoustically:
It has worked perfectly and we have loved how it works during the journey, it is not scandalous in terms of speed warnings or anything like that, and it does not consume excessive battery life either. In the hour that the trip has lasted, only 22-23% of the battery has been consumed.
What we do recommend is that you configure the app's settings to your liking, so that you can adapt them to your liking. There are quite a few configuration options and we recommend you take a look at them before making your first trip.
