Today we woke up with the news that we have the new Whatsapp 2.12.14 available. A new update from which, as always, we expected something more. It brings us different improvements that are not really anything to get excited about.
We think that Whatsapp has a lot to learn from competing applications, such as Telegram,in which in each update we They surprise with new features that greatly improve the application and that help to get more out of it and make the conversations that we can have through this great messaging platform more intuitive and enjoyable.
What's new in this version, in our view, is a bit bland and doesn't make the app much better.
WHATSAPP NEWS 2.12.14:
In the following images you can see the news that this new version brings.
Remove the "PAYMENT INFORMATION" option, from the "Account" option, within the app settings:
- They add the possibility of being able to share photos that we have hosted in other applications, in the cloud, that we have installed on our iPhone. This is the most notable novelty and the one that you can get more out of it. By clicking on "CARE" to share an image, at the bottom we can access some of the applications that show us to share photos hosted in them. It comes in handy for us since we have quite a few in the cloud of OneDrive:
- Add new solid colors, for chat screen backgrounds. To access them you have to click on SETTINGS/CHATS/CHATS SCREEN BACKGROUND/SOLID COLORS :
- Ability to zoom in videos while they are playing. Interesting news, but not very useful. To do this, while playing a video, making the gesture of expanding the screen with two fingers, we can zoom in on the image.
- A great novelty that David Villaescusa has communicated to us, in the comments of this post, is the possibility to see on the Chats screen, if a message has been sent/ delivered/read by the recipient, a function that will prevent us from opening the chats to see if they have read a message or not.
These are the "incredible" news that the new version of Whatsapp brings us.
Did you like them? What do you think of them? It seems to us that if the developers of this app don't "shake their asses", applications like Telegram or Facebook Messenger itself, will compete for the first position of the most used messaging application in the world.
