Microsoft Garage is a section of Microsoft that is usually dedicated to carrying out activities that have little or nothing to do with Microsoft's usual activity, and this time they have surprised by launching the application for iOS Fetch! , which allows us to identify the breed to which a dog belongs using a photo of it.
The interface of the application is very simple and there are three icons on the main screen that we can use. In the central part we have the icon of a camera, and just below it two other icons, Scrapbook on the left and Breeds on the right.
CON FETCH! WE CAN IDENTIFY THE BREED OF DIFFERENT DOGS USING A PHOTO
If we press the camera icon, Fetch! will give us three options: Use the camera to take the photo, use the camera while the camera emits sounds, or choose the photo from our photo gallery. If we choose the second option, our device will begin to emit noises to get our dog's attention and we can take the photo properly, in a very similar way to BarkCam.
Once we have the photo, the app will ask us to crop it to frame the dog, and once we confirm, after a few seconds the app will analyze the photo and tell us what breed the dog in the photo belongs to . Fitch! shows us a percentage, which corresponds to the breed with which the dog in the photo is most similar, and if we press that percentage we can see what other breeds it resembles.
The «Scrapbook» icon is used to access what we could call an album, since this is where all the photos we have identified are stored. For its part, if we press the “Breeds” icon we will access a catalog of breeds where we find photos and a short description of each cataloged breed.
Fetch! is a curious application that, for the moment, seems to be right, although if a result does not conform to reality, it can be reported so that it can be corrected. The application, which is currently only available for iOS and in English, is completely free and you can download it from here
