One of the best map apps that we can find in the App Store , is Google Maps , which undoubtedly improves what we have on our iPhone , iPad and iPod Touch . This application offers us a pretty good option, which is to see "the places of interest" that we have near our position. Something that will undoubtedly save us from the odd bind.
HOW TO SEE PLACES OF INTEREST NEAR YOUR POSITION ON GOOGLE MAPS
First of all, we must have the app downloaded on our device. And once downloaded, we will have to give it permission to use the location, that is, our location.If you have deactivated the location , you will have to activate it again, otherwise the app will not know where we are.
When we have everything available, we access the app and let it find us. It will be then that another symbol will appear just above the "location" arrow (a blue arrow). This symbol will be that of "places of interest".
We will have to click on this symbol, so that it searches for everything that we have near us and that might interest us.
When you click, a list of restaurants, cafeterias, and monuments will appear. We just have to select the one we want. In our case we have chosen a famous hamburger restaurant.
As soon as we select the place of interest we want, it will take us to the map and indicate the place where it is located.To begin our journey towards that place, we must click on the bar that appears just below the map, which indicates the place we have searched for, the distance and the means of transport that we are going to use.
After clicking on this white bar, all the options that we have available to go to this place will appear, as well as the route that we are going to follow or if we want to use a different route from the one offered by the app as more quick.
When we have chosen the means of transport and the route, we must click on "start navigation" and the GPS of the application will begin to indicate the direction we should take.
We also have to say that there is another way to search for less “idle” places.
If from the screen where the map appears and our location in blue, we click on "SEARCH" (at the top of the screen), places such as gas stations, supermarkets, pharmacies will appear. Clicking on them, we will access the location of the places of the chosen category. We can also see more categories by clicking on the "SEE MORE CATEGORIES" button.
Once the establishments of interest have been chosen, all of them will appear located on the map. Now we must click on one of them so that the option that will allow the app to guide us to it appears at the bottom.
And in this simple way, we can see the places of interest that we have near our position, thanks to the Google Maps app. A good way to find good places, when we make a trip and without having to ask around.
