I drop my iPhone 3GS, and where do I take it to be repaired? I already lost 200? I who disassemble thousands of PCs and consoles every day, am I not going to be able to repair my iPhone?
Here was born the odyssey of looking for spare parts and seeing that if I had a lot of problems to repair my iPhone, what were all these crazy people who were lining up to buy this phone going to do?? After much searching, research. I get everything I need to repair my iPhone 3g.
To all this, tell you that I discover podcasts on my mobile, and I start consuming my first technology podcasts.Currently I have about 70 subscriptions. I started listening to PuroMac, Emilcar, Macniacos. These infect me with the curiosity to buy a MAC and the need to see if everything they tell me is so. And this would give me another market to disassemble and work on.
I decide to put a section on my website, in which I offer iPhone repair service. This opens me up to the local market and people I repair Apple phones call me. The iPad comes out and we also start offering repair services. Already immersed in all this Apple bubble, I bought the first iMac of 27, which Apple puts on the market, in fact I still have it and after some modifications (ram expansion and SSD) it works great for me.
This was a bit of the explosion of www.javisystem.com, and I continue to repair more and more locally. This leads me to leave PC repairs aside and focus a lot on Mobile devices, Tablets and these Macs, which cost a lot to find a technical service.
www.javisystem.com already existed as such on the web, but after listening to several podcasters with problems on their devices, I decided to offer my service. I talk to Fran about “Thinking Like Chickens” and I tell him that I offer him to mount that screen that he had bought from Amazon for his iPad 2 at a cost of €0, he tells me that in exchange he wants an interview. So we decided to repair his iPad, while we do the interview on the podcast.
Just a great experience, I'm getting an interview on a podcast and I'm talking about what I like. For me two crack Fran and Daniel, who to this day I keep this friendship, and they really were the ones who launched me to repair the devices at a national level and set up the entire device collection service throughout Spain.
My first nationally repaired iPad was that of the great David Serantes, I never thought that this man would send me, that tiny javisystem website.com, an iPad for €700 to repair, wow incredible, dealing with this man, kindness and passion, how easy he makes things for you, I thought it was a 10.
Another podcaster that had problems was Ana from Minipopycast, she took her iPad to a store, which told her they were an expert in Apple repairs, and it seems that it was a disaster. I offer her my services, but she finally decides to send it to a company in Valencia. From all these conversations I get a good friendship and today we have met several times for geek talks. I could go on telling comics but I don't want to go on.
So I could say that javisystem.com, if it is well or little known nationally, is thanks to podcasting. This makes me reach interesting and important people (footballers, presenters and important people from the business world), it makes my way of working discreet and effective, otherwise I feel I would fail them. And when today a person trusts you to repair a device, with which all this carries information, you must respect their privacy and be very responsible with what comes into your hands.
It is my work philosophy, speed, seriousness, discretion and treat the device as if it were my own.
A phrase that I remember a lot from a client who did not trust the service very much:
YO – I send you your repaired iPad at home and when you check that it's OK, you make the deposit into my account.
CLIENTE – And do you trust me to send me the iPad without charging it before??
ME – I trust you to send me your €800 iPad to be repaired, the least I can do and being the one who trusts that you will pay me for the repair.
CLIENT – You're absolutely right, that says a lot about you. Thank you for your service.
- What did you think the first time you opened an iPhone?
Well, Apple really makes very good and well thought-out devices. Today, no brand has that balance of Software and Hardware.
- What advice do you give us when dealing with our Apple products?
What I can say, the iPhone and iPad, despite the fact that they are expensive, are the cheapest when it comes to repairing. Example, (price of an iPhone 5 screen around €90, price of a Samsung S4 €180 double).
I'm very bad at recommending and I understand that many of them are very expensive and you have to take care of them, but I think that many times we forget to enjoy them. Apple invests a lot in making devices with great design, and we invest in covering it over the top on many occasions.
This may sound like business to me, but I really think so, enjoy your device to the fullest because that's what you bought it for.
- What is the maintenance that you recommend doing to the battery of an iOS device?
It would be advisable once a month, to let the battery completely discharge, that includes once it is used up, let it rest for at least 8 hours and make a full charge.
But I think a little the same as the previous question, in fact I always say a phrase from a friend @sornichero:
"My iPhone has everything activated, I spent €700 for the iPhone to work, and if it's spent I'll charge it.
I don't understand this fashion of activating or deactivating things so that the battery lasts 2 hours more or two hours less, the price of changing a battery on an iPhone is €36, and if you buy it and you change, about €10, when the battery gives me problems, I put another one and continue enjoying ».
- An essential non-native app on your iPhone?
One only? Hahaha surely deciding on a serious podcast manager or WhatsApp itself.
- What is the first app you use after waking up? And the last one you watch when you go to bed?
Mail or Calendar to see the emails or pending tasks that I have and the last one because Twitter or lately Tapatalk, I take a look at the forums that I am subscribed to.
- What is your favorite podcast manager?
I don't think I have any favourites, I started with the native podcast app, then moved to Instacast, then downcast, and now I have Twitblogcast. I'm not very special to the subject of lists etc. I listen to what I feel like when I feel like.
- What do you expect from Apple this year? What new hardware would you include?
What it touches I think it's clear, to implement the footprint in the entire range of iOS and maybe somewhat larger devices in terms of iPhone, which I don't see today and little else .
What do I expect or what do I think it's time for? I think it has to be the year of something new and this may lead us to some device for the wrist, call it a watch, a bracelet or whatever you want. And I hope that soon they will give Apple TV another utility or outlet, this may be implemented quickly in the United States, but here we will have to see when and how it arrives.
What is true is that this year, Apple has to surprise us with something new, besides everything is very quiet and silent, we haven't had this feeling of secrecy for a long time.
