Configure Pocket Casts and get the most out of it

Anonim

Since what we want is to configure the APP, we have to enter the last option, which says « SETTINGS «. When we click on this option, we access the "inside" of the application. From this option we can configure absolutely everything. As there are several options, we are going to go step by step and see each and every one of the options.

Sync & Backup

From this option we can synchronize our podcasts, ideal if we have this app installed on an iPad or iPod Touch, since we will have everything fully synchronized.

Once we enter inside, we will have to register, it is not a long registration, we only have to put a username and a password, to be able to synchronize between our devices. What we achieve with this is that when we download a podcast, we will automatically have it on all the devices that we have configured with the same username and password.

Skip Forward and Skip Back

This option is used when we are listening to a podcast.

With « Skip Forward » (it automatically comes predefined with 45sec.), we will be able to advance what we are listening to, we will be able to choose how many seconds we want it to go forward. To do this we will only have to press the button ">>" and it will automatically advance the seconds that we have set.

With « Skip Back » (automatically comes predefined with 10sec.), we can do the opposite, that is, delay what we are listening to. To do this we just have to click on the button «<<«.

ArtWork Skip Buttons

With this option we can activate or deactivate the buttons to skip the podcast. This option is activated by default, so it is better to leave it as it appears. In this way we can go from podcast without having to leave.

Stream by Default

By activating this option, we will be able to listen to the podcasts without having to download them. That is to say that we can listen to them in streaming, ideal if we are at home connected to Wi-Fi (it is important to be connected to Wi-Fi, because data consumption can be excessive).

Notifications

By activating this option, the application will notify us when a new episode is available to download. If we want to keep up to date with all the podcasts we listen to, it is convenient to have this option activated.

Automatic Download

If what we want is for the podcasts to be downloaded automatically and not worry about whether we have downloaded the last episode or not, it is interesting to activate this option. It comes deactivated by default, so if we want to use this option, we just have to activate it.

Keep and Delete Episodes After Playing

Activating "Keep", we will have available to download all the episodes. If we click on this option, it will give us the option to choose if we want to have all the episodes available, the last episode, the last 2 This option, as we say many times, is configurable to the taste of each one.

Activating "Delete Episodes After Playing" we will have the option to delete the podcast once we have listened to it. We recommend activating this option, in this way we will not have memory problems.

Warn When not on Wifi

This option is very interesting, since as we have said before, if we do not use Wi-Fi, the consumption of mobile data can be excessive. Activating this option, Pocket Casts will notify us that we are not using Wi-Fi, in this way we will realize if we are using 3G or not.

These are the most interesting options that this great APP offers us. Then we have a guide and the information of the APP. The guide can be very useful, but it has the problem of being entirely in English, so the configuration can be complicated.

That's why we wanted to explain step by step all the options to configure Pocket Casts and get the most out of it.
