Today we teach you how to synchronize bookmarks, but from those books that we have downloaded from the web and for free.
Perhaps it has happened to us that when we download a book and transfer it to our iPad and iPhone , we see that when we use thebookmarks (it is used to know which page we have stayed on), we are not synchronized. This is normal, there is no type of error, it is just a restriction of Apple , something very normal if we take into account that we are downloading a book completely free, instead of going through the box
Normally when we buy a book on iTunes and use bookmarks, they are synced via iCloud , so if we are reading on the iPad and we want to continue on the iPhone , it's as easy as bookmarking the page where we left off and continuing reading on the other device.
We can also synchronize bookmarks downloaded from a website, but instead of using iCloud , we must useDropbox.
How to sync bookmarks on iBOOKS with DROPBOX:
Step 1:
Download the book we want (to do this follow our TUTORIAL). In our tutorial, we downloaded them directly to the iBooks app. Now we will have to download it directly to the Dropbox app. The process is the same, but instead of clicking on "open in iBooks", we will have to click on "open in" and select the Dropbox app.
And now we just have to choose the folder in which we want to save our book. We recommend creating one with the name “Books”. But this is up to everyone.
We have not created any folder for this tutorial, to make it faster and easier.
Step 2:
Now that we have the book in the DROPBOX folder that we have chosen and we can access it from any device where we have Dropbox, in this case we go to our iPhoneand enter the ¨Dropbox¨ app and the book, or books, that we have uploaded will appear:
Step 3:
When we have located the book, we select it (in my case I have 3). Once selected, it will take us to another screen and we will see the following:
In this window we will see an upward arrow at the bottom, click on the arrow, and we will display a menu and we just have to click « open in » and select « iBooks»
Step 4:
The book is automatically downloaded to our library, as seen in the image:
Step 5:
Now we do the same, but from "step 2", from our iPad or iPhone (depending on where we have downloaded 1st).
With these simple steps we can synchronize our bookmarks and thus be able to read from one device and continue on another, something that I think is fantastic.
We remember that this tutorial is for synchronizing bookmarks, if you just want to download, go through this other TUTORIAL
