Now we are inside the iPad, so we go to the tab that says "Applications" and click on it. In this way we will access all our applications.
We will have to scroll to the bottom, where there is a section that contains the applications among which we can transfer documents from PC/Mac to iPad and vice versa.
We have to look for the VLC app and click on it. By pressing, we will access the app, since what we want is to add a video, we click on the button that says "Add" located to the right of the app, inside the box.
Once we click on add, we search among our documents for the video we want to transfer and drag it to the box (as we see in the image).
When we have finished showing the videos, click on "synchronize" (this option is not mandatory, but we recommend doing it for what might happen) and we will have the video inside the app and on our iPad.
- Via Wifi:
This option is easier, since we don't have to connect anything, just be on the same Wi-Fi network.
First of all we access VLC and click on the icon of the « cone » that appears in the upper left part. A menu will be displayed in which we will have to activate the option « Transfer via Wifi «.
When activating this option, we see that an address appears. We will have to put this address in the PC/Mac browser, in this way we will access VLC.
Once we enter the app from the browser, a "+" appears on the right side which we will have to press to add our video.
After pressing «+», a window will automatically appear to search for the video we want to play. Therefore we look for the video and click on open.
After clicking on open, the video will begin to be transferred to the app. A bar will be completed so that we know when it has been completed. We just have to wait until it is completed.
When it is complete, we go to the app, and we see that our video is ready to play.
- Through APPs:
We are going to carry out this option with the Video Explorer app (if you want to know more about this app, you can see the review HERE).
Open the Video Explorer app and go to the folder where we have downloaded our videos (if you don't know how to download movies and series with this app, you can go through our Tutorial).
Once we are in the folder where the videos are stored, click on the little square next to the description.
After clicking on the icon, a menu will appear in which we can rename, move, open in another application or exit. Since what we want is to open this video in VLC, we click on « Open in «.
Now the icon of the app in which we want to open the video will appear. Therefore, click on the icon
We will get a message informing that the video will open automatically in the app that we have selected. It will take a while to open (how long it takes to open will depend on the size of it).
After the short wait, we will have it in our app
This option is very good if we use AirDrop, since we can see our movie, series in full screen.
- Via Dropbox and Google Drive:
This option appears directly in the VLC app, but we can open the video from the Dropbox or Google Drive app in the same way as we did in the previous option.
We are going to do the example with Dropbox. To do this, we go to the VLC app and, as in the previous example, click on the "cone" icon and we display the menu.
Once the menu is displayed, we see 2 options with the name of « Dropbox » and another with the name of « Google Drive «. Click on dropbox and we will have to log in.
After logging in, we will access all our folders. We will only have to look for the folder in which we have the video and that's it
These are all the options with which we can transfer videos to the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. A really simple process, and as you can see there are many options for it.
In this way we will avoid the whole process of having to change the format of the videos to be able to transfer them to our devices.
