A few days ago we announced the new and great update of WHATSAPP to its version 2.10.1, which added quite good improvements to the app and of which we highlight the backups in iCLOUD.

Well, today we are going to teach you how to make these backup copies of the CHATS so that we always have a backup copy in case our mobile breaks down, we change our smartphone

WAYS TO MAKE SECURITY COPIES ON WHATSAPP:

First of all we must enter iCLOUD and activate the option « Documents and Data «. To enter the APPLE cloud configuration we must go to the settings of our iPhone, access the iCLOUD section and activate the aforementioned function:

To access the WHATSAPP backup function we must access the following route within the app itself:

SETTINGS / CHAT SETTINGS / CHAT COPIES

Once inside that menu, this screen will appear:

In it we see two alternatives to make a backup copy:

  • AUTOMATIC: It will give us the possibility of making a periodic and automatic copy at the time that we configure.

  • MANUAL: It is the option « MAKE COPY NOW » in which clicking on it immediately begins to create a backup, manually, in our iCLOUD account .

To RESTORE the chat history saved in iCloud , you will have to reinstall the WhatsApp application .

To know if we have made the backup correctly in WhatsApp, we will go to the following route:

SETTINGS / iCLOUD / STORAGE & BACKUP / MANAGE STORAGE

As you can see, in our case, the backup was successful.

Well, here are the two ways in which we can generate a backup copy of our conversations and, as we said at the beginning, have a backup copy in the cloud in case of any unforeseen event that may arise.
