Today we are going to talk about how to use GOOGLE MAPS OFFLINE on your iPhone and iPad.

As always, we try to teach you so that you can get the most out of the APPerlas that we comment on on the web and today it is the turn of GOOGLE MAPS, one of the APPerlas PREMIUM from our wide selection of select apps.

HOW TO USE GOOGLE MAPS OFFLINE:

We won't have to do anything special. Simply by viewing areas that interest us on Google maps, these will be stored on our device and we will be able to use them in offline mode whenever we want.

Did you know? Well, yes, the app automatically saves the areas that we are viewing in it. This makes the size of the application grow considerably as we can see in the following path:

SETTINGS / GENERAL / USE / SHOW ALL APPLICATIONS / CLICK ON THE “GOOGLE MAPS” APP

We will have to wait a bit for the "STORAGE" section to load, which is where we should look for the "SHOW ALL APPLICATIONS" option.

As we can see, the size of the application is 16.6mb and the « documents and data » it contains, in our example, add up to a total of 17.8mb. These 17.8mb are the maps, cookies that Google Maps has downloaded to our device so that we can use them offline.

The more areas we see in the Google maps application, the greater the data that the app will accumulate in its "Documents and data" section.

In this way, if we are going on a trip to a foreign country or if we want to take a route and we do not have a 3G connection on our device, we can view the areas we are going to visit in advance so that Google Maps can download the maps in our terminal automatically. This, of course, we must do connected to a WIFI or 3G connection.

The more detailed we query the area, the more detailed the maps will be downloaded.

If you want you can try to visualize an area while you are connected to the internet and then try to see if the maps have been downloaded correctly by completely exiting the app, putting the device in AIRPLANE MODE and consulting the map in the area which supposedly would have been downloaded.

Doesn't that work?

But after explaining all this, surely a question will start to come to mind: What to do when we store a lot of data and documents in the app? How do I delete the maps that have been downloaded automatically?

HOW TO DELETE AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOADED MAPS IN GOOGLE MAPS:

To get rid of this data and free up space in your terminal's memory, you must enter the GOOGLE MAPS application while connected to the internet and access the following path:

SETTINGS / INFORMATION, CONDITIONS AND PRIVACY / CONDITIONS AND PRIVACY / CLEAR APPLICATION DATA / ACCEPT

In this way we will delete all the maps that we have downloaded in the app and thus we will make the application take up less space on our iPhone and/or iPad.

Easy right?. Well, if you liked this TUTO-APP we would like you to share it with your contacts to try to reach as many users as possible and thus see our work rewarded.
