When entering the app we land on the STREAM screen, where we will be shown a TIMELINE where we can see the news, live, that are produced in the App Store.
Very similar to its old interface, we see many buttons on it that we will discuss below.
At the top we have two buttons:
- Gear: We access the application settings, where we can configure various aspects of it.
- "All": By clicking on it, we can filter the TIMELINE apps depending on the device we want. We have the option to show news only related to iPhone, iPad, all and universal.
Under the title « STREAM » on the screen, we can see three buttons with which we can filter the applications that appear to us, as we want:
- All Categories: We can filter the results by categories.
- All Types: We can filter the results by type of news such as all types (all types), updates (Updates), new (new), price Drops (offers)
- Paid & Free: We will filter the apps and tell us to show us the paid and free (paid & free), only the free (free) or only the paid ( paid).
In the central part we see what would be the TIMELINE, where it shows us the applications that have undergone some type of update. By clicking on each of them we can access detailed information about it.
In it we can consult its valuation on different platforms, view screenshots of it, read its description (in English), what type of improvement it has undergone, the version, a lot of info that many of us find luxurious.
The share button appears in the upper right part, with which we can share the information of the application in multiple social networks and services.
At the bottom of the screen we have the AppShopper menu. In it we find the following buttons:
- STREAM: It is the screen that we access and that we have already commented on.
- FRIENDS: The friends we follow on this platform will be located here. It is essential to follow APPSHOPPER to be informed of everything related to apps. To add friends to this list we will press « EDIT » and then we will click on the «+» button.
- WISH LIST: The news generated by our desired applications will appear. Later we will tell you how to configure these.
- MY APPS: List of the apps that we have installed on our device. Here you will inform us at all times of the news regarding them.
- SEARCH: App search engine. We will be able to find any app we want and, in addition, filter through the menu that appears under the search box, the results
NOTIFICATIONS AND TRACKING OF APPS IN APPSHOPPER:
This application is a very good tool to keep track of the apps in the App Store that we want. We can, for example, select applications so that AppShopper informs us when they become FREE.
To do this, the first thing we must do is register on the platform to be able to use this service.
Once registered, we can track the application we want by accessing it and clicking on the button that appears under its logo, called "I WANT IT". By doing this we will add it to our list of desired applications.
Once this is done we will go to the settings menu, located in the "STREAM" menu, and we will access the "Push Notifications" option. We must see that the options in this menu are activated. We also have to enable notifications from this app in the settings of our iOS device.
Once this is done, we can only wait for an app we want to drop in price or update, to receive a warning notification on our iPhone.
We can take these same steps using the "I OWN IT" option, which we see next to "I WANT IT", but in this case we would add the viewed app to our "MY APPS" folder and we would only be notified when any of these are updated.
You don't know how many offers we have downloaded thanks to this service. Normally we put apps that cost money and we take advantage of when AppShopper notifies us that it is free or the price has dropped considerably, to download it.
CONCLUSION:
Very good app to be informed of any type of information regarding the applications offered in the App Store.
They should clean up the "AMIGOS" service they provide a bit more, since it doesn't work as it should. We see that it lacks options such as being able to view our friends' apps and being able to interact with them.
For a perfect functioning you must accept APPSHOPPER as a friend. You can do this the first time you enter the app, more specifically in the "STREAM" menu. If we do not accept it, you will not inform us of anything.
