The term abyss is known as a depression or crevice that, due to its dimensions, can be considered risky, it is usual that it is located in a place of great height, either a mountain or a cliff. In a figurative sense the word abyss is also used when there is a considered distancing or discrepancy between human beings, for example, "there is a gulf between the leaders of the opposition and the government" or "the ideological gulf between their religions did not allow establish a relationship between them ”.
