The word adept is an adjective used to refer to that subject who is a sympathizer or follower of an idea or a person, that is to say that an adept is the one who defends a specific cause or provides support to a leader or an organization. Therefore, the one who is adept at something, expresses his support in different ways or participates in its proposals.

For example, a woman who is a follower of a religious movement will show respect for its norms and will comply with everything proposed by the authorities. While a gentleman adept at cooking, he will seek to perfect his techniques in order to prepare delicious dishes, of course to be able to achieve this by studying new techniques and trying new recipes.

In a more general sense, people can be adept at anything. There are those who are followers of a political party, in this case they are called sympathizers, however they are similar terms that define those who are always in political events organized by their party, they are always pending to support their leaders when they are ask. In the musical environment, you can also find followers, either to a musical style or to a special artist, in this case they are often called "fans."

The adept, sympathizer or fans can be identified by the emotion and admiration that they show for that person, idea, group that they follow. Which means that if someone has the audacity to speak ill, or to pronounce any criticism of it, to what they are in favor; the adept immediately comes to his defense. Another thing, the followers will always speak well of them, promoting it at all times, in order to make it known and increase its popularity.
