The aces, also known as “Æsir” is the plural of “Ás” and whose feminine is “Ásynja” and the plural “Ásynjur”, were the main gods of Norse mythology; those who dwelt in Asgard were closely related to Odin, and are cited under the generic expression guðin (god). These gods emerged in the Scandinavian religion after the Indo-European invasions, to later be entered into a pantheon of gods with greater antiquity, which were the Vanir, gods of fertility, the sea and prosperity, instead of supplanting them. It should be noted that in the first and the best known poem of the Poetic Edda, also one of the most important writings of Norse mythology called Völuspá, resources of this annexation can be found, it also offers detailed information about the struggle of the Aesir against the Vanir.
The origin of the name of the gods Aesir, is manifested in the prologue of the Edda in prose which are collections of stories related to this Norse mythology, where they mention that they were men from Asia, exactly from Troy, and that the peoples of the north of Europe taken by gods.
The main members that made up this pantheon or those who were worshiped with the greatest fury were Odin, also called Wotan, who is the main god of this Norse mythology; then we have Thor, god of thunder and he was influential in different areas such as climate, justice, protection, among others; Frigg, one of the main goddesses of this mythology, goddess of fertility, love, housekeeping, marriage, motherhood and the domestic arts; Baldr second son of Odin; and Tyr, god of war. According to this mythology, it was Odin himself, chief of the Aesir, who created the world together with his brothers Vili and Ve.
