This is a monotheistic religion that focuses on the lessons taught by Bahá'u'lláh (a religious of Arab origin) who was its founder, in addition to being considered by his faithful as a bearer of divine revelations for that time, its foundations are based in three beliefs, which are the unity of God of religion and of humanity in addition to a series of revelations after all the above. There are those who relate Bahaism to Islam, however the latter does not consider it that way since many of the beliefs of Bahaism are totally opposite to what is expressed in the book of the Koran.
Baha'ism arises as a consequence of an ancient sect known as Babis, indigenous to Iran, which emerged in the mid-nineteenth century, specifically during the anniversary of the death of the twelfth Imamwho was followed by the followers of the Shi'ah movement, therefore it is believed that the Babis are a remnant of the Shi'ah specifically from the Imamíyah branch, considered as the largest still existing sect considered as the official religion of Iran, the which was founded by Muhammad Shirazí better known as Bab, which means entrance, since it was believed that he was the door to the so-called Hidden Imam. Muhammad was arrested by the courts in 1845 and 5 years later he was executed, this because of a violent demonstration caused by his followers, said demonstration being violently stopped by the authorities. Moments before his execution he predicted that a person would arrivewhich they would call "He whom God will make Manifest." By 1864 Mirza Husain one of his most faithful followers proclaimed himself as the person predicted by the prophet Muhammad Shirazí.
The influence of Mirza Husain on the faithful was such that the authorities sent him to Baghdad and then to Turkey, the people who followed them to that place were called Bahá'ís while those who did not recognize him as the leader They continued to be called babis, by 1868 Mirza was exiled along with a large part of his followers to Acre where he was imprisoned for nine years in the fortress of Acre. After his liberation he moved to Bahyi where he lived until his death. After his death, the religion was taken under the command of his son Abbas Effendi, who was also arrested by the Turkish authorities, after being released he prepared to make three trips, the first to Egypt, then to Europeand finally to the United States and then return to Europe, where he was in charge of strengthening religion in those areas. After his death he was supplanted by his grandson Shoghi Effendi, who focused on strengthening the religious community in Europe and the United States, he was in charge of organizing the religion in kind of assemblies, both local and national, after his death there was no any heir, for which the leadership was taken by the so-called Council from the hands of the cause, for 1962 the International House of Justice was established as the main headquarters of said body, which is elected every 5 years. Currently its faithful are estimated between 2 and 4 million faithful, being the region of India where it has the highest concentration.
