How to make a Bio
To correctly write a story, it is important to keep in mind the ten recommendations mentioned below:
- Identify the purpose of the work and the reading public. Before starting, you should know who you want to write to. A story is the first exposure for readers.
- Observe the examples Oriented to the reading public. One of the best ways to understand what readers want to achieve in the work is to read the stories that other writers in the same field have written.
- It collects all the information possible, from the date and place of birth, to more important events taken from letters, magazines, newspapers, photos, but above all, the information provided by friends and family.
- Caution should not be exercised when measuring information; even the most interesting anecdotes may be inappropriate.
- You should organize your thoughts before starting to write and analyze, what part of the character's life you are most interested in highlighting. Some questions that can help are: what ?, who ?, when ?, how ?, why?
- Write in the third person. Writing in the third person will make the story seem more objective, as if it had been written by someone else, which can be useful in a formal case (for a job, for example). Experts advise writing professional works always in the third person.
- When writing in the third person, their appearance, their physiognomy, their passions, their habits and their language should be described.
- It should start with the character's name. At the beginning it should be assumed that the readers do not know anything about the character. Write the preferred name, to avoid nicknames. If the real name is not remembered, it can be replaced by: my boss, my friend or my partner, etc.
- The most important merits should be mentioned, if they are of interest. The achievements, awards or merits are really significant, they must be included. However, doing so can be misleading and not be accepted in all contexts.
- Finally, the work must be edited, reading it aloud in order to determine the rhythm and sounds, also preventing repeating information.
