Term of English origin whose meaning in terms of virtual education is referred to is " blended learning " which is used to refer to the process through which the work carried out in the classroom (the classroom) and those carried out are joined place in line (courses and online classes), one of its main characteristic features is that the student has the right to control the place, space work and time that is carried out such activity.
There are different models of blended learning that can be applied:
- The Flexible model: it is mainly constituted by online activities, the student has the possibility of interacting with different types of learning, in order to improve understanding based on the student's needs, therefore the student has the flexibility to organize the form in how you want to be taught specifically, either in work groups or individually
- Rotation Model: here the learning activities are divided into stations, therefore the students are divided into groups, which will be assigned a specific station where they must perform a task during a specified period of time and then change from station, within this model there are 4 subcategories that are, computer lab rotation, station rotation, inverted classroom and individual rotation.
- A la carte model: the student can take some classes in person, while in other subjects they can choose the online mode, where they are advised by the teacher in charge online.
- Enriched virtual model: when this model is implemented, students have face-to-face classes on days and hours already determined, however the rest of the classes are purely online and are supported by the teacher in a virtual way, however these are usually optional for students that require them.
The Blended Learning work modality is considered today as one of the most effective study modalities when compared with the face-to-face and even with the total online modality, some argument of what support this type of learning, is that the incorporation of new technologies in education helps to facilitate the learning experience independently and collaboratively, which causes greater student satisfaction and consequently better achievements.
