The skin cancer is a type of pathology especially restricted and can be classified as cells that are affected, there is a basal cell carcinoma, carcinoma of squamous cells and melanomas (where is directly affected melanocytes).
Squamous and basal cell cancer is the most common type of skin cancer affecting mainly people who suffer extensive sun exposure and which occurs in areas that are more exposed to the sun such as the face, neck and shoulders; This type of cancer is not so threatening to the life of the patient, however, it is necessary to diagnose and treat it in a timely manner to avoid its spread to nearby tissues, which can cause scars, sometimes causes deformity and can even inhibit the proper functioning of some body areas, especially squamous cell cancer if it is not diagnosed and treated as it should be, can spread and cause the death of the patient.
On the other hand, melanomas are found, this type of cancer has a lower incidence in the population, however it is the most aggressive among the types of skin cancer, this type of cancer is characterized by the affection of melanocytes, these are the cells that produce pigmentation or skin coloration, there are benign tumors of melanocytes which are called nevus or moles, melanomas have different sites of appearance and will not depend on sun exposure in men they are detected more frequently on the chest and back while in women on the legs.
They can also be detected on the face and neck, like those mentioned above, melanoma can be easily treated if it is identified in a timely manner, otherwise it will migrate to nearby organs and abruptly produce the death of the patient. There are also several types of cancer such as merkel cell carcinoma, cutaneous lymphoma, Kaposi's sarcoma, which are characterized by being blue tumors throughout the skin and is a type of opportunistic cancer, mostly observed in patients with virus of human immunodeficiency.
