The main and most universal meaning that the word cabin has collected, represents the name that has been given to a type of housing that is made mostly with natural materials, obtained directly from the environment.

The cabin is a very common home in natural and / or rural environments, being a very used place to build them, the forest, since the main material used for its construction comes from it: wood.

In many areas, the cabin is recognized as a synonym for "hut", which is the type of rustic dwelling, mostly used as a home, by people with very low income. This type of housing has been a good way for man to relate to the environment, since they tend to be located in spaces that have abundant plant presence and unlike other types of housing, they do not alter the spaces, but live with them.. Many people tend to develop farming areas, farms, and grazing areas for their animals, close to their cabin.

At present the cabins are widely used by the tourism sector, serving as a type of "lodging" for the hotel industry. This is because due to the location in areas with a lot of plant presence, those who live in large cities and cities decide to vacation in this type of environment, detaching themselves from the routine, in places such as forests and mountains.

In Argentina, a cabin is the livestock establishment that is dedicated to the breeding of specimens of a specific breed.
