The campus is a space or land within the limits of the university, also considered as a “university campus”. Its term comes from the English campus, and this in turn comes from the Latin campus , which means plain.
This university perimeter is made up of a set of buildings, such as classrooms, libraries, laboratories, faculties, the university canteen, recreation areas (cafeterias, shops and sports areas), as well as outdoor space. free (parks and gardens), where the university community can develop activities for their personal and spiritual reflection. The campus also has residential areas for housing university students. In some universities this group of buildings are close to minutes away.
On the other hand, there are so-called virtual campuses; which are spaces oriented towards people willing to facilitate their distance training experience through Internet services. These have the function of addressing a learning community by making available the pedagogical resources and the corresponding collaborative communication functionalities.
