What is tiredness? »Its definition and meaning

Anonim

Tiredness is the word used to designate a type of body condition of both human beings and other animals that is manifested by lack of energy, sleep, lack of concentration and attention, among others. The fatigue is a typical and characteristic element of being human today because the huge demands and stress of everyday life cause that the person can not rest well and recover energy.

Fatigue can be combated both with natural means and with artificial means, although the latter are more than anything palliative that aim to reduce it but cannot make it disappear because they do not represent a recovery of energy or a rest. Natural means are obviously to sleep, rest or relax, stop activity to rest. Artificial means are all substances such as coffee or others that help to keep the body alert, but not that cause fatigue to disappear so that later results can even be worse.

While anyone can suffer from fatigue at some point in the day, it is a state that can be reversed in many different ways. Therefore, it is not understood as a disease, since it is part of the states through which a human being can go through the day. The only way a disease becomes medicine is when that fatigue is chronic and does not vary despite not making efforts or spending energy, even if it is accompanied by depressive psychological states as well.

Now, intellectual fatigue is one that comes from mental fatigue, being very concentrated mentally, for long periods of time, either having to take a test, having to solve a problem, and so on. In this case, fatigue can be eliminated only with physical activities: going for a walk or playing sports, walking, distraction. Fatigue can affect specific areas of the body, such as eyestrain, after many hours of watching television or the computer.
