One in five adults suffers from cardiomyopathy, but most don't even know it. Cardiomyopathy is one of the leading causes of heart failure and the most common reason for needing a heart transplant. - Ischemic heart disease. For example: acute: angina / chronic: myocardial infarction.

- Cardiomyopathies. For example: Chagas cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic or concentric cardiomyopathy.
- Rhythm or conduction disorders. Clearer examples: atrial fibrillation, atrioventricular block, and so on.
