Castilian is a language from Spain (that is why it tends to be confused with Spanish), it is used in all the countries that have been colonized by that nation (which are almost all from Latin America); This belongs to the 6 official languages declared by the UN, it is after Mandarin Chinese, it is the most spoken language in the world, ranking in third place. Castilian is not synonymous with Spanish, since its origin is from a province known as Castilla, a region belonging to the Iberian Peninsula (it should be noted that in Spain 4 languages are spoken, which are: Castilian, Galician, Catalan and Basque).
As previously mentioned, its spread was the product of colonization, which means that when Columbus landed in America (1492), Spanish was already positioned in the Iberian Peninsula, being then the language that suffered a rapid distribution throughout the world in comparison with the other Romanesque dialects belonging to Spain; but this language obtained different accentuations by the indigenous residents, a process known as “ hispanization ”.
This process managed to unify many American people, there were endless indigenous peoples and each one had a totally different language from the other; after colonization the Spaniards in an attempt to communicate at first used gestures, and then enslaved a large majority of indigenous people to serve as interpreters.
Already in 1713 the real Spanish academy was founded, so that it would have the difficult task of setting itself as the words that conjugate the language were, in this way to discard any variation that all the Spanish-speaking people of each region had elaborated.
