It is a term that is used more frequently in the realm of astronomy and religion. In astronomy, the sky is defined as the space where the Sun, the stars, the Moon and the other planets are distributed. In a religious context, this word represents for many spiritual doctrines the abode of God and there are others who affirm that heaven is the final course of all human beings, at least those who are free from mortal sins.
What is heaven
Table of Contents
The " sky " can refer to the firmament, which is easily observable in the open when looking up. This space is also known as the celestial vault, where you can see the stars, such as the sun, the moon, the stars, satellites, clouds, among other astronomical and meteorological phenomena.
In the spiritual realm, it is a place where God dwells and lives on his Throne and at his right hand his son Jesus Christ. From this aspect, it is also the destination of those people who believe in God and follow his commandments; Hades being its counterpart. There is more than one song heaven that describes what it is like.
Sky elements
Sun
It is the center of the Solar System. It is a G-type star (yellow dwarf) with a surface temperature between 5,000 and 5,700 ºC approximately and 1.4 million kilometers in diameter.
It is in charge of providing the planet earth with light, heat and energy to sustain life: without it, both the earth and the other planets of the Solar System would be frozen rocks roaming through space like wandering planets (interstellar).
Moon
It is the natural satellite trapped in the gravitational field of the earth, whose diameter exceeds 3,470 kilometers. Its proximity gives stability to the planet, by controlling the tides and balancing its gravitational movements.
Planets
They are celestial bodies without their own light that revolve around themselves and usually, in turn, around a star. Depending on their size, there are gas giant planets, terrestrial planets and dwarf planets; and depending on their location, there are those of the Solar System, extrasolar and interstellar.
Stars
They are celestial bodies in the form of spheres of plasma, dust and gas that emit heat and their own light, whose energy comes from nuclear fusion. According to their temperature, composition and size, they can be: blue-white, red, yellow, orange, blue or green.
Natural phenomena in the sky
Clouds
They are hydrometeors (suspension of water particles in the atmosphere) formed by particles of water or snow crystals so tiny that they are suspended by slight vertical currents. There are four main types: cirrus, strata, cumulus and nimbus.
Rainbow
It is a meteorological and optical phenomenon caused by the refraction of sunlight in the visible spectrum, when it passes through the drops of water found in the atmosphere. Its appearance is that of two arches without a clear division between their colors, ranging from red (exterior) to violet (interior).
dawn
It is a phenomenon generated when particles charged with protons and electrons from the Sun collide with the Earth's magnetosphere, guided towards the poles, where they collide with oxygen and nitrogen atoms, producing the release of electrons, manifesting in the form of visible light. Its appearance is that of a great play of colorful lights in the sky, which can be green, blue, pink, red, yellow and purple.
Lightning bolts
It is a luminous and energy phenomenon that originates in lightning, which is produced by the imbalance of negative and positive charges or voltage differences. Lightning descends from the clouds in a branching fashion and will never touch the ground, unlike lightning.
Fog
It is a hydrometeor made up of drops between 50 and 200 micrometers, whose thickness can reduce visibility to approximately one kilometer. They are usually originated by volcanic activity or atmospheric processes and it is not as humid as fog.
The colors of the sky
These will vary according to the time of day, season and atmospheric conditions, since the hot sky may have one hue, a starry sky another, and the night sky will have other shades.
On day
During the day, it is blue due to the reflection of the rays in the atmosphere of blues and violets, which produces the effect of said color that comes from the entire vault.
At night
During the clear night, it has very deep bluish and violet tones, which will not reach absolute black due to the brightness of the stars.
At sunrise or sunset
At dawn the predominant colors are red, since the rays pass through the atmospheric gases that filter the radiation; and similar to the early morning, at sunset the reddish colors predominate.
Cloudy sky
On cloudy days, the predominant colors are different shades of gray and dark blue. During the cloudy night, reddish and gray colors may appear.
Heaven in religion
According to different religions, heaven has similar concepts, with variations. Heaven God is the paradise in which the human being, after passing through the earth, will meet with God for all eternity, as long as he has obeyed his commandments.
