However, communicology is an attempt to incorporate a broader vision, which includes interpersonal relationships, political economy or the educational system.

The purpose of an investigation based on comunicología is the understanding of the existing relations in a determined communicative context, with some structures, some messages and some internal connections.

Comunicology is an interdisciplinary discipline and, at the same time, combines two dimensions: the study of the content of communication and the instruments used in it. As an area of ​​knowledge, this discipline has emerged in recent decades in some Latin American countries, especially in Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia. We could say that communicology is a theoretical conception that tries to understand the globality of communication.
