In the case of Protestantism, the congregation is the basic group of believers, united not only by their creed, but also by a covenant or agreement established between the members of the same. In congregational churches a congregation is an autonomous churchthat binds freely the like to form a Christian denomination or association of congregations who allow their coordination and helps level regional, national and international. In the case of Jehovah's Witnesses, the congregation is the fundamental and primary unit of believers, belonging to a specific territory (generally smaller in size), it is composed of between 30 and 70 members. It also refers to the entire group of believers worldwide.
It is of great importance to highlight that the term ¨congregation¨ is a generic name that has its origin in the history of religious life and was used mainly as a synonym of ¨ order ¨ and ¨ brotherhood ¨.
