A controversy results from the discussion, or the presentation of two opinions on the same issue that generates differences between both parties, these disagreements can be witnessed in an event, a debate, etc. Controversies tend to have a high level of passion, even when the topics are abstract. That is why controversies can sometimes take your interlocutors to unwanted extremes.

The type of controversies will be classified according to the number of people involved, or affected by the topic under discussion, a dispute can be between two people, communities or even between an entire nation, considering small and large scale respectively, just because two different points of view on the same event; A large number of controversies are originated by small differences, therefore the discussion becomes fleeting or momentary, and although a total agreement is not reached between both parties, the relationship between them will not be modified, these discrepancies can be observed on different subjects, such as religions, philosophy, and in a large percentage of incidence on politics, often the most serious controversies are the product of fanaticism or extreme positions, in which not even the slightest understanding is achieved towards the other debating party.

Controversies can also be carried out on a worldwide basis, a topic that would serve as an example for this is global warming, which is affected to every corner of the planet generating sudden changes especially in temperature and seasons, being a permanent discussion different actions that the inhabitants of this planet must follow to prevent such environmental alteration from occurring.

Another type of world controversy is the execution of the “bullfights”, some consider it to be an artistic practice and are in favor of its realization, others consider it an insult and totally insensitive act towards the lives of the animals involved in this activity.
