Quantum refers to what is related to certain energy jumps when emitting or absorbing radiation, which are known as “ quanta ”. Quantum is an adjective used in the field of physics.

The quantum concept was created in 1900 with the proposal of quantum theory by the German physicist Max Planck (1858-1947) in which he explained that in a dark body radiation is measured by the amount of light.

Quantum theory was reinforced in 1905 by physicist Albert Einstein when he defined the theory of spatial relativity. It was not until the year 1920 that it was determined that the science that would study these particles would be called quantum mechanics as a branch of physics.

The fundamental idea of ​​quantum physics is that everything is made up of atoms, which are made up of a central nucleus surrounded by electrons that revolve around it. Physics or quantum mechanics, a scientific theory that is used to explain how very small things, such as atoms and electrons, work.

According to a basic principle of quantum physics, atoms or electrons can be found in one place and at the same time in all places in the universe at the same time. On the other hand, this theory holds that nature imposes its own limits on what we can know, that is, things in the "small world" can occur with a certain probability. This implies that there is no absolute certainty regarding the movements of the subatomic particles. Regarding reality, quantum physics raises questions of a philosophical nature, since it highlights the problem of the existence of reality itself when we do not observe it.

Regardless of the scientific and technological implications, quantum theory has had a significant influence on philosophy, since its postulates have allowed us to understand reality as a whole from another perspective. Finally, we must not forget that in the world of computing there is a so-called quantum computing, a theoretical model that is not yet present in current technology, but it is foreseeable that it will be the paradigm of future technology.
