Decency is a human value, which is closely linked to what society perceives as dignified and correct, and which, therefore, can vary from one culture to another.

When an individual acts and behaves in different situations with modesty and respects the social conventions established in their community or in the context in which they find themselves, they will be said to stand out for their decency. For the celebration of his holiness, the faithful are asked to dress decently.

On the other hand, when the concept is used at the request of a sexual context, it refers to respect for sexual morality. The fact that you have sexual relations with your girlfriend goes against the decency proposed by this family.

Being a somewhat abstract notion, it can be difficult to explain to a child what decency is and instruct them about it. Psychologists say that decency must be taught at all times from one's own example, both in conversation and in gestures, attitudes and clothing. It is important to work on spreading this value since children are not aware of the consequences of indecent behavior.

Decency is a value that has to do with dignified behavior everywhere. As a value, it is a guiding principle of life, and these values ​​give content to our existence. To the extent that we lack them and do not live them, our own life becomes empty. This only helps us that living values ​​translated into virtues give content to existence, give meaning to life and guide the task of a person with a rewarding purpose. It allows to enrich motivation and, consequently, consolidates the hopes that can be had.

Behaving decently means performing in concrete acts a behavior that reflects wealth as a person and respect for others. It means knowing how to value others and consider them in all their human wealth. Being worthy means being a person of integrity, congruent, who has a unity of life, who says what he thinks, who acts in accordance with what he says, and who behaves before the world as such, taking into account respect in relationships human beings to which others who live with you must be subject.

In politics, decency has to do with responsible and respectful conduct, therefore dignified, which is assumed before the citizens, the country and before one's own conscience. In the context of politics, the central thing is not only if the person is the decent person, but if the political line followed is the decent one and that is where all the indecencies come in that end up qualifying the person.
