Etymologically the Rest would be to undo the fatigue or without fatigue. In general, rest is a state of inactivity of the body or mind.
The body as a unit can be at rest or inactivity, or part of it, such as the arms or legs, if they have been used until exhaustion. The tone or tension of the rested muscle fibers is at its lowest point. The calm mind thinks quickly and does not focus on solving problems or making important decisions.
Rest is considered the momentary cessation, rest, stillness or pause of an activity or work to regain strength. Rest has to do with the free use of the worker's time after their workday in tasks that are not part of their work, with the purpose of replenishing or restoring their physical and mental energies.
It should be noted that before one can enjoy a true rest, tense muscles must relax, since the quality of rest is directly related to the degree of muscle relaxation.
When a person is completely rested, his metabolic demands are virtually the same as when he sleeps deeply, since physical and mental activity is minimal; However, while rest gives the body a chance to recover, it provides neither the recovery nor the satisfaction of subjective well-being that deep sleep confers.
The term rest is also related to the time during which a show, a program or sports competition is interrupted. For example; in a soccer game there is a 15-minute break between the two halves that make up the game.
On the other hand, rest is also taken as the seat or place on which something rests; for example, go into the house and leave the box on the break that is there.
