Drawing is a form of graphic expression that stamps images on a real or virtual support; for example: paper, wood, cardboard, glass or through the computer. Considered one of the elements that make up painting and one of the types of visual arts. The drawing represents the universal graphic language and has been used by mankind since prehistoric times.
The first drawings date from prehistoric times, being the cave paintings located in the Altamira Cave (Spain) the oldest, in this cave the man of that time captured on the walls and ceilings of the cave what he considered important to express (generally activities linked to their environment and their way of life).
According to its objective, the drawing can be classified into:
Artistic drawing: it is the rationalized two-dimensional graphic representation of those objects that the eye perceives in a three-dimensional way. It is a technique that allows you to express shape and volume, using the line as a manifestation of feelings and thoughts. It is done through graphic techniques on a two-dimensional support, represented objectively and subjectively to reality and concepts.
Geometric drawing: it is that type of drawing that draws things to scale, that is, as they are, as long as what is drawn is completely flat. This kind of drawing is widely used for teaching, especially in the early years in the faculties of architecture and engineering, as well as in the beginnings of secondary education (baccalaureate).
Technical drawing: this is the name of the almost exclusive way of drawing, with geometric lines; using precision tools (rulers, squares, compass, protractor, etc.)
Geodesic Drawing: This kind of drawing represents objects with a round or spherical surface, so it makes corrections to focus, in proportion to how close or far they are from the poles of the sphere. For example, in some maps the parallels are drawn as parallel horizontal lines, and the meridians are curves that start from the poles.
The drawing is very important as it represents a natural impulse of all human beings. Drawing as a complement to the mind, helps awareness and thought.
Some of the techniques applied when making a drawing are:
Pencil technique: it is handled in two major phases; the first is to draw the lines that represent the skeleton of the drawing; and the second deals with shading.
Ink technique: it is widely used in the realization of artistic and recreational paintings. This technique works reduced in water, generally on paper, wood or fabric.
Marker technique: it is one of the most modern, it is applied using marker, or marker to make an abstract art or mix of colors.
