The word Discipline derives from the Latin discipulus , which means disciple, who receives a teaching from another. At first this word links us to an authority-subordination relationship, in which one person directs and orders and another submits and obeys.
Discipline is defined as the orderly and systematic way of doing things, following a set of strict rules and regulations that are generally governed by an activity or an organization.
It is understood as the work carried out by a person to teach or acquire good habits; covering all those rules of behavior that it develops and the measures it takes to ensure that these rules are complied with.
The latter is very common in a family nucleus where parents always try to discipline their children to make them people of good character and order. The same occurs in school, where it is known as school discipline, the teacher or professor has the duty to teach his teaching maintaining order and conduct in his class, and the regulations of said institution.
Discipline also enters the ethical and moral environment, it originates in mutual respect and cooperation, with firm dignity and compliance as a basis for teaching experiences and skills in life and an internal control site.
It is very important to emphasize that having a strong discipline, in the future you can succeed, achieve success, and be excellent. All this means that an individual has to be constant, orderly and not improvise or do whatever comes to mind.
On the other hand, the term discipline refers to the science, subject or academic matter that is taught or studied in an institution, known as an academic discipline or field of study ; as well as the modality of a sport; for example, beach volleyball, indoor soccer, etc.
In past centuries, the word discipline was used as the equivalent of a scourge, it is known as the instrument or whip to spank.
