In the medical context, the word eczema or dermatitis, as it is also known, refers to a skin condition, which is characterized by the presence of inflammatory lacerations such as a rash, blisters, and secretions. Eczema, depending on its characteristics, can occur in different types:
- Atopic: Atopic eczema can be distinguished by presenting an eschar or postulate with redness and inflammation in the affected area, in addition to a strong itching. It is a periodic disease, since it can present stages of improvement, then another of aggravation and vice versa, it usually occurs during childhood and is strongly related to some allergies such as: conjunctivitis, rhinitis or asthma. - Seborrheic: A seborrheic eczema is a common skin condition, characterized by scaly lacerations on the part of the scalp and face. There is no known cause for the appearance of this type of eczema, however it can be linked to stress, the use of incorrect soaps, it can also be related to excess fat exudation through the skin glands or due to an infection bacterial, in children it usually appears as an irritation in the diaper area from the use of soaps or diapers that cause irritation; in adults it can occur in the form of dandruff on the scalp.
- Contact: A contact eczema appears as an inflammation that appears on the skin after it comes into contact with any component or substance, it generally appears in the area of the hands when the person handles products that cause irritation, women They are the most prone to get contact eczema since they are permanently exposed to external substances such as cosmetics or metals.
