The Salvation Army is a religious, international and charitable organization belonging to Christianity; founded by pastor William Booth and his wife Catherine Booth in 1865, however this movement is known more as a non-profit organization, which does not belong to any government entity, and which is dedicated to the social welfare of privately. Its headquarters is established in England, from there all units located around the world are coordinated and directed. More than 26,000 officers, 100,000 employees and around 4.5 million volunteers are enrolled in this organization.
The mission of the Salvation Army is based on the Bible, its ministry is due to the love they feel towards God, urging them to preach the gospel of Christ and trying to help those most in need in his name, without any kind of discrimination. Its main purpose is the advancement of the Christian faith, the alleviation of poverty, and the well-being of the human community as a whole.
The most frequent social actions are carried out by helping the indigent, inmates, prostitutes, alcoholics, abandoned children, the sick of any kind. His way of evangelizing is broad and generous; They do not practice any proselytism or recruitment of bad faith, wanting to attract sympathizers of other religions, in no way, they simply seek to evangelize those who have strayed from God. The Salvation Army has three slogans: "blood and fire" (associating it with the blood of Christ and the holy spirit). "Heart to God, hand to man" (referring to social action united with faith in God). "Soup, soap and salvation" (highlighting the need for mercy coupled with evangelization).
