Eloquence is the ability of a person to express themselves orally to third parties. It is characterized by the use of clear, fluent and convincing language, capable of capturing the attention of listeners. The origin of this word dates back to ancient Greece, where the art of eloquence was widely used within the political context.

The ability to speak eloquently is not something you are born with, however, it is a skill that can be learned with practice. Hence the importance of having a precise idea of what you want to express, in addition to formulating the arguments that support said idea; in this way the speech will be made more understandable to the audience. For his part, the speaker must use a language that adapts to different types of audience, without falling into idioms and fillers.

Eloquence pursues two objectives that define its authentic condition: that of moving and that of convincing. These properties identify very well the purpose for which it exists. The subject who speaks eloquently and with his own style, uses his fluent voice as an instrument to communicate a specific thought and plant ideas in the listening public.

There are a number of recommendations that you should keep in mind in order to speak eloquently:

It uses a clear and precise vocabulary, that is, it is not necessary to use a wide lexicon, adding words that may confuse, just for the simple fact of trying to impress the public, many times if you use simple words you can get the same result.

The use of fillers such as "this…", "aha", "eh" is not recommended. It is better to first think about what exactly you are going to say, before saying it, in this way you will avoid falling into the use of fillers.

Good diction is important, because if you can't pronounce the words correctly, the audience ends up getting confused.

The speed of speech should be slowed down. Talking too fast will make the person appear anxious and unprepared.
