This important practice has its origins in ancient times since it was put into practice by man in many passages of history. The first educational institution that was in charge of teaching people about nursing as a study dates from 250 BC and is located in India, in that place only men were admitted, since only they were considered pure enough to be able to study it. Another data that confirms the age of nursing was during the care of newborns after delivery, it is believed that this was the oldest practice of caring for a person.

During the time of ancient Greece, hygiene and self-care of people was already something daily, which allowed when providing care to the sick and injured to keep them alive and consequently offer a better quality of life to the inhabitants. During the Christian era, the practice of nursing had great relevance, especially in religious temples, since during this period the battles of the so-called crusades were fought, which increased the demandAs a medical care center, this led leaders to create units that were exclusively dedicated to nursing, an example of this is the Knights of Lazarus, the Teutonic Knights. The first hospital center created exclusively to care for sick people was the Hospital Obispo Masona located in Spain.

Nursing plays a fundamental role in the recovery and care of patients, in certain cases the professionals in the area are trained to make a basic diagnosis where the intervention of clinical studies is not required, in addition to this they can be aware of the evolution that a specific patient may have in relation to one or another treatment.
