What is dedication? »Its definition and meaning

Anonim

Dedication is a virtue that manifests itself in doing things as well as possible, in order to achieve the highest degree of perfection possible, with human logical limitations, which allow for some error or failure. He who does his best puts his best effort to make his work or product immaculate.

As we said, dedication is a very socially appreciated characteristic, since those who care generally are those who are successful, increase in their jobs and are recognized as valuable and strong, but excess can be originated or derived, in obsessive compulsive disorders or addictions, for example to study or work, which can be detrimental to those who care and their environment: "My cousin takes care so much at work that he has forgotten his family" or "My wife has an impeccable house, but so much care "Leaves her moody and exhausted."

We can strive to seek recognition from others, however, this kind of effort can be a source of great frustration because applause from others is free. On the contrary, an intrinsic motivation is always the key to happiness in carrying out an important effort.

The person is diligent in developing an action plan through effective time management so that the end result is consistent with their own expectations. One of the criteria linked to dedication is the quality of the final product result. A quality for which the person spared no effort, for example, he has also been able to reveal himself for a few days and invest hours of sleep in that job.

Furthermore, dedication can be linked to concentration. A journalist who writes an article carefully needs time to think about each word and then re-read the text to see if he made a mistake. Whoever writes without care, unlike the above, does so in a hurry and without rereading.

It can happen, for example, when work-balance difficulties force people to sacrifice to achieve some goals. However, this sacrifice is pleasant because it offers a great reward for reaching the goal. An effort made with sense

By nature, it is easier for us to get involved in the tasks that we like. A tendency that shows up in childhood when children are not receptive to doing homework in a subject that they don't like and are instead responsible for doing homework in a subject that they like.

In short, sometimes we have to go the extra mile to be diligently involved in a challenge.
