All human beings, as well as all invertebrates have an internal skeleton, unlike some animals, such as insects, whose skeleton is external.

The human skeleton is divided into three parts that are the head: formed by the bones of the skull and the face; trunk: made up of the sternum, ribs and spine bones and extremities: made up of the clavicle, shoulder blade, humerus, ulna, radius, metacarpus, carpus, phalanx, pelvis, femur, patella, fibula, tibia, tarsus, metatarsal and phalanges. The human skeleton is made up of 206 bones and each one has its name and function, mostly concentrated in the extremities.

The upper extremities have 64 bones and the lower extremities 62 bones, the head is made up of 28 bones and the trunk is composed of 62 bones, the main ones being the skull that protects the brain, the femur to protect the legs, the ribs that protect the lungs and heart, the spine allows us to keep our body upright. There are also the smaller bones such as the anvil, the hammer and the stapes and they are located in the ear. All this set of bones that shape the skeleton participate in the formation of blood, in the reserve of minerals and in the reserve of energy.
