Within skiing, there are different modalities, thus categories are selected that encompass certain types of requirements or instruments to be used during the competition. For example, within water skiing there are the subcategories of slalom, figures, jumps and combined and each one refers to the different tricks that should be used.
To practice skiing you need a team, it changes depending on the category you practice. In Nordic, that is, the one practiced in the snow, boots, bindings, skis, ski clothing and poles are needed. In the nautical, monoskis and common skis are used, but adapted to the water, as well as a tow line.
