Existence, from the verb to exist which in turn comes from the Latin Exsistire which means to appear, to emerge or to be; It is composed of the prefix "ex" (which denotes outwards) and " sistire " which means to take a position, to be fixed.
The Greeks distinguished the true existence of the sensible, changeable appearance, the phenomenal. They considered and studied the real existence or essence of all things.
In the Modern Age the issue of existence acquires new scales from the rationalism of Descartes; The existence is unquestionably the fundamental attribute of the substance. In this way existence is considered as a predicate.
Descartes establishes as a notion of substance that which does not need another to exist.
At present the issue of existence is considered from two points of view:
- The logical perspective. That acquires a new dimension with the symbolic formalization. The Aristotelian syllogism is interpreted as a logic of classes and as a logic of predicates.
- The existential perspective. Regarding the consciousness of "existing" as an essential condition of man.
In the economic context, existence is called the units of any product that is in the warehouse or warehouse of a business and that is available to be dispatched to the customer.
