Child exploitation is called the work that is carried out by children within the framework of an economic production system. This is a phenomenon that can have serious consequences in the development of minors who are exploited, this is because it affects the enjoyment of their rights. Those individuals under 18 years of age who carry out a work activity that affects their development, who are forced to carry out risky tasks or who are forced to carry out activities of an illegal nature, are considered victims of child exploitation.
The most common form of child exploitation is the labor type. Today there are mafia groups and clans that use children for work. This is an illegal problem and therefore governments persecute these practices. Despite this, there are children who work in hiding. Working conditions are precarious, salaries very low, without guarantees of any kind and total absence of considerations.
In ancient times it was a reality that children worked in the field of agriculture and in certain industries. But over the years and thanks to the pressure of some social movements, it was possible to abolish child exploitation at work in a large part of the territories. However, it is a problem that has not been completely solved since in many underdeveloped countries or in certain marginal areas, this type of exploitation of minors continues to exist.
It should be clarified that child exploitation does not refer solely and exclusively to the world of work. This can also be applied in a sexual sense, since in many regions of the planet children are used as a claim for prostitution. Another type of child exploitation occurs during times of war, with the aim that they intervene in armed conflicts. Today the manifestations of child exploitation have the same meaning and it is basically to take advantage of the weakness of children to carry out some illegal activity and as it should be logical, the economic interest is the idea that encourages this phenomenon.
