It is known as the "Balkan front", the place where various battles were fought between Austria-Hungary and Serbia, and later the western allies. It took place on the Balkan Peninsula, also known as the Balkan Peninsula, from August 12, 1914, to August 1918. This, it should be noted, took place in the framework of the First World War, or the Great War, by the assassination of Franz Ferdinand of Austria, the Archduke and Imperial Prince of Austria, as well as the royal prince of Hungary and Bohemia. This attack, often referred to as the “Sarajevo bombing”, was a mission of the Youth group Bosnia, whose main mission was to achieve the emancipation of Bosnia from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, which was carried out with the support of the Serbian intelligence services.
This is why the First World War is unleashed and, in the same way, why the first battles fought take place on the Balkan front. The official declaration of war takes place on July 28, 1914, but the confrontations do not begin until August 12 of that year, when the Austrian troops crossed the Drina river, one of the most important rivers in Europe, which covers, in almost its entire extension, the border between Bosnia, Herzegovina and Serbia, reaching the last country.
Towards the fall of 1915, the allied army decided to go to the aid of Serbia, so an expedition led by England and France was organized. Finally, in 1917, Greece decided to enter the war on the side of the Allies, which contributed to the realization of a great Allied defense in September 1918, which achieved the liberation of the Serbian people.
