Gallery is commonly called all those long spaces that are used to connect the different areas of a building and is also implemented to present works of art. The origin of the term gallery came from the Latin expression "galilea" with the meaning of "portico", site of the temples where non-Christian people were located since they did not enter those sacred places, which were located in the city of Galilee. The gallery is a very common place. Normally, the galleries are adorned and upholstered with a majestic splendor, it is decorated with significant details and with luxurious furniture, with silk tapestries, embroidery made of gold and silver, unique portraits of certain owners or masters of the palaces and castles in question, which are customarily placed on the walls of a gallery.
Nowadays it is also called a gallery, in the field of architecture, to an elongated space that is located as a corridor with different utility, it works to link rooms, provide light, mediate as a winter garden, exhibit artistic works, among other things. Galleries are more common in homes with large spaces.
In addition to this, this expression is also implemented to distinguish some covered markets, which have an enormous extension, and are available exclusively for the pedestrian crossing, whose main purpose ends up being only for commercialization. That is, these majestic sites are usually subdivided and in this way they adapt it to various commercial markets, one next to the other, in which numerous services or products will be provided, such as sales.clothing, electronics, food fairs, among others. However, shopping centers have probably managed to stand out from the traditional galleries, but these still exist today as very normal, typical and traditional shopping malls and are found anywhere in the world.
Art galleries are also special and exclusive spaces that are used only for the exhibition and development of art, mainly visual art, such as sculptures, paintings of pictures and portraits.
