Gelocatil is a medicine whose active principle is paracetamol, also containing microcrystalline cellulose, powdered cellulose, corn starch, silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate. It is an analgesic that is characterized as one of the most widely used antipyretics, that is, it is one of the most widely used drugs to relieve the symptoms of fever or the common cold. The most common presentation of this product comes orally, in a small box that contains 20 to 40 tablets; the grams of each tablet may change depending on the edition obtained.
In addition, it treats pain that occurs due to arthritis, the period after childbirth, a surgical procedure or others in various areas of the body that are not in any way related to this disease, such as the back, muscle, belly, head and teeth. It cannot be consumed if you suffer from any condition related to the liveror if you have experienced an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients in the drug. If the pain does not eradicate or the fever persists for 5 or 10 days, you should consult your doctor, as it could be a more serious condition. Children under 6 years of age or under 21 kg cannot consume Gelocatil; people who tend to drink alcohol progressively cannot, likewise, drink it.
The overdose, if it occurs, would not be noticed until 3 days after the medication has been consumed. But when they do occur, they usually appear in the form of nausea, abdominal pain, dizziness, loss of consciousness, and jaundice (yellowing of the skin); they almost always cause severe damage to the liver and kidneys.
