Glycemia or Glycemia is the amount of glucose or sugar in the blood and is one of the sources of energy for our body, especially for brain cells and red blood cells. We get it from the foods we eat every day and its value varies if we are fasting; at normal levels it is good for the growth and development of the human being, at low or very high levels it carries consequences of a malfunction of the most important machinery that is the human body.
Insulin is the hormone responsible for the correct adsorption of glucose in the body, helping cells to function better with glucose, which in time remains as energy reserves for when they need it in a long time of low and no consumption of food.
Glucose, apart from ingesting it from food, is produced in the liver, our factory is located there, reaching the blood after being adsorbed by the intestines, causing the pancreas to begin the work of creating insulin, which is the conductor of glucose taking it to the cells of the body through the blood. A poor adsorption of glycemia leads to fatty liver, high triglycerides, this in case of high blood sugar levels, it is known as hyperglycemia that go to more than 110 mg / dm, the common symptoms of high levels are: being thirsty, urinating more than necessary, blurred vision, extreme fatigue, infections and loss of consciousness among others.
When the levels are below 70 mg / dm, it is known as hypoglycemia and decompensates the body leading to deterioration, its most common symptoms are: headaches, double vision, confusion in actions and thoughts, fainting, coma. Whatever the condition of the sugar in our body, low or high, leads to a variety of types of diabetes in humans. Thus leading a life of constant review of sugar to keep it under control, since in the worst case it can severely damage the brain permanently or death. A healthy diet, constant review, exercise, leads to maintaining sugar levelsinstead, remembering that being healthy is not just in our body; as are positive thoughts, helping to have a positive attitude in order to maintain a complete and healthier life.
