The pituitary gland, also known as the pituitary gland, is the endocrine gland responsible for the homeostasis process which consists of the correct administration of proteins and nutrients from food and serum that enter the body. The hypophysis is the area in charge of the secretion of hormones that together with the hypothalamus control the parameters of the body, keep the levels of hormones in the endocrine system regulated, together they are the most stable pair of glands in the body.

The pituitary gland secretes a series of hormones which control a series of functions that we will explain below: the growth of the body, the formation of the hair follicle and the growth of hair and hair on the body, as well as that of the nails and feet, the control of mucous membranes that serve for the correct fluid flow through the body, secretes prolactin, a hormone dedicated to the first food of a baby when a mother gives birth, the process of secretion of prolactin begins when pregnancy begins, in this way when moment of the woman conceives a child and is ready to breastfeed her baby.

Returning to the subject of homeostasis, the pituitary secretes the necessary hormones so that the body correctly receives the protein content of food. This is a process of constant feedback, in which all the organic systems receive their load of sufficient energy to fulfill their function properly and thus continue with harmony in matters of physical health.

The pituitary is placed on top of a bone called " Sella turca " (in its cut an inverted L shape is seen) that is in the ephenoid bone. This " Privileged " position allows the pituitary gland to easily connect with the hypothalamus, to carry out the functions that they have between them that we have already mentioned previously.
