What is unpunished? »Its definition and meaning

Anonim

Impune is a concept that encompasses a series of events, which trigger an act that causes harm to a person or thing and, the person responsible for having carried out the act, does not receive a punishment for it. It is a very common term, quite known, especially in the legal field, as a reference to those cases in which the criminal who committed them cannot be caught or the sentence given is much less than what they should really receive. However, this has as its origin the ignorance, on the part of those in charge of the retaliation, of how it should be done or, likewise, because the person involved was able to evade the consequences of the act he committed.

For most of the organizations that protect the rights of the victims of certain crimes, impunity is a circumstance in which the victims are denied a process of healing or reparation of the consequences, whether physical or psychological.

It should be noted that, in some countries, impunity is much more frequent for political and judicial reasons; the first, because political corruption can generate a series of damages to the system under which the nation is governed, the last, because, if the laws are not strict or those in charge of deciding the verdicts do not do their job, the criminal may not receive the sentence he deserves. Human rights organizations are among those who frequently protest so that victims of war crimes or aggravated violence are rewarded with the capture of the criminal who wounded them.
