The list that makes up the causes of insomnia is very extensive, since it can be manifested by bad habits of the person, by the use of drugs, alcohol or medications, by other physical or mental health conditions and even by pregnancy or pregnancy. menopause.

This sleep disorder is more frequent in the world population than is believed, some specialists have dared to quantify the number of people affected, speaking of estimates between 10 and 15% of adults who suffer from chronic insomnia, between 25% and 35% have had temporary or occasional insomnia and 50% have had insomnia at some time in their life.

In this sense, insomnia can have various consequences, since feeling tired or distracted during the day can cause car accidents because the person falls asleep while behind the wheel. In addition, it can cause a bad mood or apathy that hinders social, family and work relationships.
