"Investing" is a term that refers to the action of giving a person a position of great importance; Based on this, it is called “investiture”, the ceremony in which said position or appointment is granted to the individual, following a series of established patterns. The Lombards, a Germanic people established in eastern Europe, later established, in their laws, that both investing and investiture would refer to the same ceremonial practice of honorific initiation. In the Middle Ages, similarly, the use of the word was oriented concession contracts between feudal lords, either from goods furniture such as real estate.
In the distant Middle Ages, the prevailing economic system was feudalism. In this, the fiefdoms or lords exercised great power over lands and slaves. The main objective of these was to accumulate as much good as possible and, if he had the possibility of acquiring one of more value, he would do so. This is how some fiefdoms bought goods from other fiefs. Generally, this was done by drafting a primitive property title, which granted a series of property rights to the new lord. When the operation was carried out, it was quite common that, in the case of being a property or a vassal, some characteristic symbol of the new owner was captured, indicating that it was now under his dominion; but nevertheless,in some cases they were given a small staff or, well, the investiture was conferred "per festucam seu per baculum et virgam".
Currently, the investiture is divided into two groups, the presidential, those in which the powers of the nation are handed over to the new president, and the parliamentary, is the acceptance of a new president, in addition to the renewal of the congressmen that make up the parliament.
